I am a watercolor artist living in central Texas. A lifelong painter and art lover, my artwork took a back-seat during a 22 year career in the military. The Navy flew me around the world, introducing me to many places that inspire and inform my paintings today. For many years, I have been a studio painter, laboring over paintings for weeks or months. While I still do that, I have recently been painting on location (plein air) more and thoroughly love it. It is great to get out with other artists (or alone) and capture what is before me as quickly as possible. The Texas Hill Country gives me some great landscapes to capture. My favorite subject matter has been man-made things that have some age and character to them, whether they are old vehicles, architecture or city scenes. I love it when someone says “That reminds me of a time when …”, after viewing one of my paintings. Although we don’t all share the same memories, I think we can be reminded of our personal pasts by the same images. I earned a BFA degree in painting from the University of Florida and am a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society. My work is held by collectors around the US.
